25.06.15	Miles Simon (Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg) Some integral curvature estimates for four dimensional Ricci flows and some consequences thereof We present some integral curvature estimates for four dimensional solutions to Ricci flow. These estimates hold for any compact, connected, smooth, four dimensional solution. In the special case that the existence time is [0,T), with T finite, and the scalar curvature is uniformly bounded on [0,T), we present various consequences thereof.

04.06.09	Dirk Hundertmark (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champain, Department of Mathematics) Mathematische Herausforderungen aus der nichtlinearen Glasfaseroptik Das sogenannte Dispersion Management in Glasfaserkabeln wurde entwickelt, um die Dispersion von Pulsen bei der optischen Datenübertragung zu unterdrücken und damit die Bandbreite in optischen Datenübertragungssystemen drastisch zu erhöhen. Die Ausbreitung von Pulsen in Dispersion-Management-Kabeln wird durch die sogenannte Gabitov-Turitsyn-Gleichung, welche eine nichtlokale Version der nichtlinearen Schrödingergleichung ist, beschrieben. Diese Gleichung wurde numerisch und heuristisch intensiv studiert, aber rigorose Ergebnisse sind selten. Wenn man "dispersion management" in Google Scholar sucht, erhält man ca 500.000 Treffer, mir sind aber nur 5 rigorose Arbeiten bekannt. Insbesondere sind nur sehr wenige Eigenschaften der stationären Lösungen der Gabitov-Turitsyn-Gleichung, den sogenannten Dispersion-Management-Solitonen, rigoros untersucht. Wir beschreiben neue Ergebnisse, speziell zur Existenz, Regularität und dem exponentiellen Abfall, dieser Solitonen.
